Pumpkin Bundt Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
PUMPKIN … the star of fall recipes and definitely a shining star in this Moist Pumpkin Bundt Cake topped with a light Cream Cheese Frosting. You’re gonna love the secret ingredient in the frosting to make it lighter!
“Get up and walk!”
This is the phrase that has been stuck in my head the past 24 hours.
Sunday mornings usually consistent of setting up THE church (because we’re portable), coming back to the house, getting ready and then heading back for a quick prayer time with all the volunteers before service actually starts. I have come to love that time. It is silent. Quite. Still. And we just spend time resting and praying.
Usually during that time our Pastor will head up to the front and share something that’s on his heart. Yesterday those four words hit me like a ton of bricks. “Get up and walk.”
So simple, but sometimes so hard.
Sometimes it’s hard to have faith or hope that God can move the mountains that are in front of us. That there is a light at the end of the tunnel. That our circumstances will change.
Yesterday, Pastor John was recapping last weeks message. He was talking about a passage in Luke 5 when Jesus was teaching inside a home. The crowds started to gather, so much so that there was barely any room to move. Some men came in carrying their friend on a mat who was paralyzed. These men had such faith, that if they could just get their friend in front of Jesus he would heal him. They tried to get through the crowd but couldn’t find a way. They decided, of all things, to climb to the roof (with their friend), tear through the top of the roof to make a hole and then lower their friend down in front of Jesus. Seems like a lot to go through. They weren’t stopping for anything, they were going to get their friend in front of Jesus.
When Jesus saw the faith of the men he looked at the paralytic and said, “your sins are forgiven.” The teachers of the law were so blown away, offended and astonished that they asked “who is this man who speaks blasphemy?”
This is my favorite part ya’ll. Jesus, knowing exactly what those men are thinking, looks straight at them and says “why are you asking questions in your heart? Which is easier to say to a man, ‘your sins are forgiven’ … or ‘get up and walk?” Then he turns to the paralytic and says “Pick up your mat and go home.” And he does! BOOM!
After John told the story he looked at us and said. “Get up and walk!”
Stop sitting in your circumstances! Get up, pick up your mat, and walk into the destiny God has for you!
I’m sick of sitting in my circumstances. Of allowing my emotions or circumstances to dictate my day…. or my future. Of not living in the full potential that God has for me and walking into the identity he has showed me!
Get up and walk!
I want to have faith that can move mountains!
So … if you’re feeling a little discouraged today or stuck in an overwhelming set of circumstances. Take faith. Get up. Set your eyes on Jesus and walk. One step after the other! I’ll be right there with ya!
Something else … I HAVE FOR YOU! Is this delicious cake!
Cake makes all things better and can bring a smile to your face in an instant! Especially when it is as good as this Pumpkin Bundt Cake! On a side note, every time I say Bundt Cake my mind goes to My Big Fat Greek Wedding … “it’s a buuuunndtt cake.”
This Pumpkin Bundt Cake is loaded with pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and all things nice! Then it’s topped with a out of this world cream cheese frosting. I guarantee you haven’t had a frosting like this one because it has greek yogurt in it which gives it a nice tart taste to it. It’s absolutely amazing, especially with the cake!
I brought this cake to small group one night and they went head over heels for it!
Bon Appetit my friends and Happy Monday!

Hi I so want to try your bundt cake but i am wondering is it just one cup of flour for the recipe? And how many servings Thank You
yes, it is 1 cup of whole wheat flour and it makes one bundt cake which is about 12 servings.
I don’t even know you. I just searched for a pumpkin Bundt cake recipe and God brought me something so much better! A message to stop being stuck and get up and walk! Thank you for that! I love how even 4 years after your post God continues to meet me right here, right now , right when I need to hear that! And I seriously can’t wait to make the cake too!
ohhh that makes my heart happy, THAT is why I blog! I love that you find hope and a yummy recipe! 🙂
Hi, I think your blog is awesome and you have done a fantastic job curating. In regards to this post I was curious to know how you are able to get your bundt cake to come out the pan without the top part of the cake breaking off. I’ve tried everything I feel imaginable from oil, sprinkling flour, and even setting the pan in water yet it still breaks. Thank you in advance for any helpful tips you can provide.
Hmm… Is the pan you’re using a good dark non-stick bundt pan. If not, that might be why it’s sticking. I have a dark non-stick pan, spray it with Pam all over and then thats it. (sometimes I’ll lightly flour, but you really don’t need to) I hope it works out Erica!
