Tender Flank Steak and fresh Broccoli tossed within a Sweet & Spicy Sauce and served on top of Cauliflower Rice.
So have you ever felt like you are kinda sneaky?
Ya know…
You are able to do something and literally know one knows about it!! {muuuuahhahahaha… evil laugh}
That is how I felt with this Beef & Broccoli Stir fry with Cauliflower Rice…. sneaky!
We literally just had this for dinner last night, which normally doesn’t happen, typically I will have a bunch of recipes in my “que” for ya’ll but vacation and then being sickie mcsickerson has not been kind to me.
Anywho, normally Cason will eat the same thing as us most nights, unless its a salad in which case he opts for eggs and toast. {smart kid right?!}
Even though this was a stir fry I thought I would give it a whirl with him, even though they are not his favorite.
At first, little man gave me the Heisman stiff arm.. “no mommy… I no hungry”
I told him that he needed to at least try it.
“No mommy…I no hungry… I play.”
So I again I told him, no buddy, you need to eat. Again the answer was no.
I decided to take a new approach.. he’s a man… or a little boy… a little man boy if you will. What do men like? Steak!
So I start… “Cason, there’s steak in here buddy. Why don’t you give it a try?”
Hhmmm….. “Ok”…. I gave him a bite and huge smile appeared on his face. “like it mommy… i like it”
Next up.. Broccoli. As soon as he took one look at those foreign green objects he looked at me and said “I don’t like it mommy”
So again I told him… “buddy you haven’t even tried it, at least try it… they are trees!” {not sure where that came from but hey when all else fails, refer to botany}
It worked! Within minutes I had him eating broccoli, cauliflower {that one just flew right past him because it was disguised as rice}, and beef all in a sweet asian soy sauce mixture.
As we were eating I just had this smirk on my face because I felt like a ninja mom making her kids eat vegetables and they didn’t even know it!
So… moral of the story. If you want to be a ninja make this meal.
No.. but for real, you do need to make this Beef & Broccoli Stir fry and if you make the stir fry then go ahead and make the cauliflower rice. Believe me its worth it. This is the first time I’ve had cauliflower rice and to me it’s has so much more flavorful than regular rice, so I will definitely not be going back to rice. Um… boring!
Hope you enjoy this meal as much as we did, and you get your ninja mom skills on! 🙂

Description
Tender Flank Steak and fresh Broccoli tossed within a Sweet & Spicy Sauce and served on top of Cauliflower Rice.
Ingredients
Cauliflower Rice:
- 1 head of cauliflower, cut into florets
- 1 medium onion
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
- salt & pepper
Beef & Broccoli Stir fry:
- 1 tablespoon of canola oil
- 1 1/2 lbs. of flank steak, thinly sliced
- 4 cups of broccoli, cut into florets
- 1/4 cup of tamari {could also use coconut aminos or gluten free soy sauce}
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon of fresh ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
- 1 1/2 tablespoons of honey
Instructions
- For Cauliflower Rice: Add onion to a food processor or blender and mince, next add cauliflower florets and process until in uniformly chopped. Don’t go overboard or it will turn to mush, if you have to stop early and pull out some of the bigger florets to keep it in “rice” form do it!
- Heat a large saute pan to medium high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of coconut oil to the pan.
- Next add the onion cauliflower mixture. Season with salt & pepper.
- Saute for 4-5 minutes, or until just tender but still has a “crunch” to it.
- Remove from heat.
- Beef & Broccoli Stirfry: In a small bowl, mix tamari, garlic cloves, ginger, red pepper flakes, honey, and sesame oil. Set aside.
- Season flank steak with salt & pepper.
- Heat a wok or large skillet to medium high heat. Add canola to pan and then add flank steak. Stirfry for 4-5 minutes until cooked through, add broccoli and tamari sauce mixture. Cover.
- Stirfry for 2 minutes.
- Serve over cauliflower rice.

LOVE cauliflower rice! This looks delicious and so easy to make. Can’t wait to try it.
Thanks Jordan! Seriously easy to make and the flavor is so much better than rice. 🙂
I need to try cauliflower rice, such a great idea!
Yes you do need to try it!! So good. 🙂
I just made cauliflower rice last night, but Mexican rice! I am surprised how much the hubby loves it! But stir fry with steak sounds right up our alley! Definitely making soon!
I know right, Mike liked it too. I was pumped that I now have an alternate option for rice AND its healthy! Yippee… totally try this stirfry, steak + men = their happy place. 🙂
Cauliflower rice! I need to try that one on my veggie hating preschooler! I can’t get anything into him that isn’t in smoothie form. So annoying. I haven’t tried disguising it as rice though, maybe that’ll work! this looks like a lovely stir fry!
Oh.. he will love it. Cason didn’t even notice! hehe… so fun to sneak stuff in there like that. Hope it works for you too girl!
This is so perfect & healthy, I could eat this every night of the week
Thanks Matt! Me too!
