Easy 30 Minute Honey Garlic Grilled Shrimp with only 4 ingredients and full of bold flavors. These grilled shrimp will be a favorite this summer – I guarantee you’ll be licking your fingers!
April in Texas is beautiful. The weather is warm but not humid, the air is crisp and refreshing and things are just starting to turn green and bloom. It’s probably my favorite time of year.
Minus the yellow haze that lurks over everything.
What is that yellow haze?
Y’all I thought I knew about pollen. I know that bees get all up in that flower to get the pollen and make honey but that bee is also what makes those flowers bloom. What I didn’t know is that Texas has a “pollen season.” And during that season everything … and I mean EVERYTHING has yellow dust on it. Parking spots, cars, basically anything that sits outside for more than 24 hours during pollen season will be covered in yellow.
I guess that the pollen gives you a heads up that summer is right around the corner which means grilling season is on y’all.
Grilling season is my jam. I would throw everything on the grill if I could. I love that all I have to do is turn it on, wait for it to warm up and place my protein or main dish on it. No pots or pans necessary. No cleanup. Just scrape it with the grill brush and voila … if there’s stuff left over on the grill that’s ok. It aids to the flavor of the grill.
Grilling is a no fuss way to make a flavorful meal.
Not only does grilling leave those beautiful grill marks on whatever is placed on it. But it leaves an explosion of flavor to. It’s something no skillet or stovetop can recreate.
These Honey Garlic Grilled Shrimp fit in that category. I’ve made these in a skillet before, it’s just not the same.
This go around, on the grill. I decided to place the shrimp on a wooden skewer after marinading them. Here’s the reasoning. I find that grilling shrimp is easier when it’s on the skewer because you can flip like 8 of them at one time instead of having to individually flip them or risk the chance of them falling down the grill grates.
I don’t know about you, but I’d prefer to eat my food instead of the grill eating my food.

And believe me, you are gonna want to eat them. These Honey Garlic Shrimp are simple, spicy, salty, sweet and have a nice bold garlic flavor. No sauce necessary when they’re done. These are perfect on their own. You’ll want these on repeat all summer long. They’re perfect with my Quinoa Tabbouleh Salad or Mediterranean Orzo Salad.

- 1 lb. of large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- ⅓ cup honey
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoon water
- garnish: chopped cilantro
- Soak wooden skewers for 20 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, add honey, garlic cloves, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes and water. Whisk ingredients till it becomes a sauce. Add prepared shrimp to bowl, toss to coat the shrimp.
- Marinade shrimp for 10 minutes.
- Add shrimp to the prepared wooden skewers.
- Heat grill to medium high heat.
- Spray grill grates with cooking spray or rub down with a olive oil soaked rag.
- Place shrimp skewers on grill and grill each side for 3-4 minutes.
- Remove and garnish with chopped cilantro.
