The past couple of weeks I have been overwhelmed by God’s goodness and loving pursuit for me.
Over the years there have been clear moments in my life I can remember being overwhelmed by God. Each time I have learned a different characteristic of who God is. He has constantly been in pursuit of my heart and peels back the layers, the hurt, the lies all while revealing another element of who is He to me!
For example, when my parents were going through a rough time in their marriage and my dad left. I was heart broken and confused but learned that God was my father, my daddy, and he would take care of me. While my mom was an alcoholic for four years God was my comforter, he was the restorer of our souls.
In the first year of my marriage, I struggled very badly with an overwhelming amount of fear. I was convinced that Mike was going to leave me and nothing would tell me otherwise. Every thought I had revolved around fear, it was all consuming. I had to work through some hard stuff in my heart and lies that I was believing about myself and God… during that time I learned he was my peace, my healer, and my stronghold. If I hid myself in Him, those fears and lies would not touch me. They had no power.
In couple of years into our marriage, Mike left a job he was at for 6 years the people he was working for were not happy about it. They spoke horrible horrible untrue things about him. Called him many swear word names in front of me, I was so angry, all I wanted to do was act out. During that time I learned God was my defender. He was the judge, not me.
It seems like every time I’ve gone through something tough, the Lord has been right there walking with me and showing me another side of who He is. Those are just a few examples, clearly I’ve learned a ton through our four years of infertility as well and you’ve heard about those on the blog as well.
Right now, in this moment in time, I’m overwhelmed by God’s love, His reckless pursuit and faithfulness to me! And Sunday morning as we sang this song, Reckless Love of God by Bethel Worship, I could barely mutter the words. The chorus is the part that was like an arrow through my heart.
There’s no shadow You won’t light up
Mountain You won’t climb up
Coming after me
There’s no wall You won’t kick down
No lie You won’t tear down
Coming after me
There’s no shadow You won’t light up
Mountain You won’t climb up
Coming after me
There’s no wall You won’t kick down
No lie You won’t tear down
Coming after me
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn’t earn it
I don’t deserve it
Still You give yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine
God loves us so much! He chases us down. He tears through walls to get to us. He’ll climb mountain after mountain to reach us. He won’t let us continue to believe lies about ourselves, He will expose them, shine a light on them and heal them. If we are lost, he’ll leave the others and fight until we are found. He will stop at NOTHING to rescue and restore his children.
His love for us is fierce. It’s overwhelming. It’s reckless. It’s like a hurricane that reaps through the atmosphere, nothing can stop it!
I pray that you experience that overwhelming never-ending reckless love of God. That he takes your breathe away with how much He loves you and how hard He is pursuing you!
You are loved sweet friend!
Ok, moving on. Let’s talk … Chocolate and Coffee. Shall we?
This Mocha Almond Smoothie is the things dreams are made of ya’ll.
I usually start my morning with either a smoothie or a cup of coffee. Well this Smoothie has the best of both worlds, espresso, chocolate, and protein all packed into one powerful drink. You are absolutely going to love it! It honestly tastes more like a shake than it does a smoothie, which means this may be your new go to in the morning!
Bon Appetit!

Instead of using espresso powder could you use ice mocha?
You could. It will change the nutritional info, but you could do that.
Love reading what you wrote about God!
What brand of vanilla protein powder do you use?????? THANK YOU!

This looks dreamy! I’ve been laying off bananas recently (I guess because of all the summer berries and peaches and cherries….!), but I’m ready to enjoy them again. Great smoothie!
