Fresh Strawberry Limeade
Happy Friday folks! I hope you’re as ready for the weekend as I am!
Since its still July.. aka .. hot scorching summer month in Texas I’m pretty sure that a smooth refreshing drink is in order.
A drink that the kiddos will like and (optional) a little “some some” could be added for adults if its a crazy day make this Strawberry Limeade a keeper for sure!
This summer has been absolutely crazy as far as weather goes. We started off May with what seemed like Monsoon season in Texas. It rarely rains here but 14.17 inches in just a month seems a little odd, especially since Seattle “rainy town” just got a meager .58 inches that same month!
Then June starts off with what seems like the same trend. Sun for fifteen minutes, rain/thunderstorm for 7 days! Ugh.. lets just say I’m glad we went to St. Lucia for 10 days of June! 🙂
Things started to look up when July came around, the heat came… you know the 100 degree type heat which is typically of July!
And as soon as that heat came we hit the pool! It’s a necessity in Texas summers!
Little man has gotten to this stage where he wants to do the same thing everyone else is doing at the pool. He wants to wear his goggles, he wants to dive under water, he wants to jump in and not have anyone catch him.. you know the fun stuff!
Only problem was he didn’t know how to swim. I can teach him how to saute an onion but how to swim… yeah I was stuck dead in the water on that one. So I finally signed him up for swim lessons and hands down the best thing I ever did!
The program I signed him up for was teaching him float to swim for the “basics”. I knew this was a must because if he fell into the pool or jumped in I wanted him to know how to get to his float position and be able to turn around and kick to the side of the pool. Survival basics is what they call it.
Well, I am proud to say that after twelve ten minute sessions he passed his test and is now water safe! Whew! Huge weight off of this momma’s shoulders especially since we still have alot of “swim season” left!
Now that we are spending more time at the pool and the weather is hot again we are always in need of a drink refresher and this Fresh Strawberry Limeade does just the trick! It only has 5 ingredients and literally you just throw everything into a blender (including whole limes), blend it up, strain it and viola really FRESH Strawberry Limeade. If you want to make it more of an adult beverage add in some white rum or coconut rum! De-lish!
Hope it cools you down this summer! Cheers!
