Helping Hubbie: Grilled Garlic Basil Shrimp

Grilled Garlic Basil Shrimp #getgrillin #shrimp #helping hubbie recipe

Last summer, my husband loved it when I made shrimp on the grill. In fact, some nights thats all we would have to eat. It is one of the easiest meals to make. All you have to do is slap a marinade on those puppies, throw them on the grill and viola.. dinner! So I thought, well, if it’s that easy to make then Mike can do it! hehe… {happy smile}

So this weeks Helping Hubbie post is Grilled Garlic Basil Shrimp. The marinade to this shrimp is awesome! It has all kinds of yummy flavors; like white wine, garlic, red pepper flakes, and basil. I usually serve these with fresh lemon slices and homemade cocktail sauce because we like ours with lots of horseradish. Plus it’s so easy to make, ketchup and horseradish. {it’s not rocket science folks}

You and your hubbie will be so impressed that he made such an awesome meal! 🙂

To get started, rinse 2 lbs. of raw shrimp {be sure it is deveined and the shell is off} and place in a large bowl.

Next add 1/4 cup of white cooking wine and slowly add 1/2 cup of olive oil whisking to emulsify.

Pour marinade over shrimp and mix to make sure all shrimp are coated.

  1. Hello, great receipe! Canโ€™t wait to try it out.
    Just one question: Iโ€™m italian but we donโ€™t have that โ€œitalian seasoningโ€ in Italy.. hehe.. What does it taste like? Or do you know what is it made of?
    Thank you in advance

    1. hehe… it has a combo of oregano, basil, parsley and garlic powder in it. So you could easily mix that if you’d like! Hope you like it Gina!

  2. These look amazing! I have one of those BBQ basket thingies – bought it (as I’m guilty of doing with most things cooking related I see lol) – no idea what to do with it, and now I know! Just ran downstairs to tell Mr G ๐Ÿ™‚ Now all we need is nice weather over here…

  3. Yum!

    Yum!!! I love grilled shrimp, don’t love getting burned by the skewers ๐Ÿ™ I like your cute little grill pan!

    1. Me too! This grill pan is the bomb and only cost me like $7 at Bed, Bath, & Beyond!!! Go get it… I promise it will give you a great return for you money. ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. This looks so delicious and easy! Do you have any recommendations of how to cook it if doing it in the kitchen? Stove? Oven?

    Thanks!
    Lauren

    1. Hey Lauren, absolutely! You could totally saute this over the stove at medium high heat. I would put some olive oil down in the pan first {so they dont stick} and then throw the shrimp in. Use the same cooking time, about 5-7 minutes, or until it is pink and all curled up. ๐Ÿ™‚ Let me know how it turns out! Thanks so much for stopping by chica!
