How to Roast Garlic

Ingredients

  • 2 whole garlic bulbs
  • 2 teaspoons of olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400ยบ.
  2. Peel away the outer layer of the garlic bulb, leaving the individual cloves intact.
  3. With a knife, cut off about 1/4 of the garlic bulb so that the top of the garlic cloves are exposed.
  4. Place the garlic bulbs, exposed side up, on a baking sheet. {I did mine in a muffin tin to keep them in one spot}. Drizzle about 1 teaspoon of olive oil over the top of garlic bulb, rubbing the bulb to make sure it is completely covered with the oil. Make a little tin foil tent over each garlic bulb.
  5. Bake in oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the cloves feel soft when pressed in. Allow the garlic to cool.
  6. To remove you should be able to just use a fork to pull each clove out of the skin. {otherwise use a small knife to cut around the skin and then squeeze or pull the clove out with your fingers}
  7. Store in an air tight container.
