Sesame Chicken Kabob

Who doesn’t like Chinese food on occasion, right?! A night in, good Chinese food, a glass of wine, and a movie. One of my favorite Chinese dishes is Sesame Chicken, well, that and Honey Seared Chicken. But I love the flavor that the Sesame Chicken has with the hints of mandarin orange and ginger, it’s so yummy! What’s your favorite Chinese Dish? Maybe we can try to make that one next!

Today, for our “Real Men Cook” day. I thought I would do a twist on the normal Sesame Chicken Recipe and turn it into a kabob and have those boys throw it on the grill. This Sesame Chicken Kabob will definitely be a favorite around your house, and the best part is you don’t even have to make the marinade! I cheated a bit and bought the Lawry’s Sesame Ginger Marinade and it was delicious! You will love it and so will the fam!

How to Make Chicken Kabobs

To get started, cut up 1.5 lbs. of boneless chicken breast into 1″ cubes.

Sesame Chicken 1Put cubes in a bowl and pour 10oz. of Sesame Ginger Marinade over, toss to coat the chicken and place bowl in refrigerator to marinade for 30 minutes.

Sesame Chicken 2

In the meantime, chop up your veggies. Seed and cube 1 green bell pepper and 2 red bell peppers, set aside. Peel and cut 1 red onion into quarters. {I separated some of the layers to make sure I had enough onion and it will cook more evenly when on the skewer}

Sesame Chicken 3

Drain a 20 oz. can of pineapple chunks in juice. Bring out your chicken, set up your assembly line and start alternating chicken, red pepper, green pepper, pineapple, and red onion on a skewer.{I used my metal ones, but you can use wooden if you’d like – just be sure to soak them so they don’t burn. :)}

Sesame Chicken 4

Do this until all the ingredients are used up. Heat grill to medium high heat, place all kabobs on grill and grill each side for approximately 4-5 minutes.

Sesame Chicken 5

Serve over a bed of Jasmine Rice.

Sesame Chicken 7

Slather some of the extra marinade over top the kabobs if you like it “saucey”. 🙂

Sesame Chicken 8

I hope you enjoy and have a great Holiday Weekend! {3 day weekend.. woohoo!}
