Easy Tzatziki Sauce Recipe

When I was a kid my mom use to make Gyros all the time! I LOVE Gryos! The warm pita, spicy lamb, and sweet tomatoes. Yum!!!But my favorite part was and still is the Tzatziki sauce. I use to load that stuff in the pita… maybe even more Tzatziki sauce than lamb. So when I saw this recipe for Avocado Tzatziki sauce I was sold!

Normally in Tzatziki sauce you would use Greek Yogurt to make it creamy. But this one uses avocado, and who doesn’t love avocado! It is a great twist on the typical Tzatziki and it is Paleo. This sauce would be perfect on a lamb burger or pita sandwich. I actually used it as a dressing for a Greek Chicken Salad, recipe to come later this week! 🙂

Hope you enjoy!

I just stumbled upon your avocado dressing recipe because I was looking for a sauce to go with my bowl of zucchini that I grated into long spaghetti-like strips. I didn’t have a cucumber, so I used a zucchini (I happen to have a lot of zucchinis at the moment). YUM!!!!! I whipped that sauce up in my food processor and LOVED it!!! Thanks! I’m going to follow you on Facebook. Thanks!!!

What a healthy, beautiful sauce! I can’t wait to try it. I love the cucumber in there–I would never have thought of adding that with the avocado. Yummy!

  3. Sherri @The Well Floured Kitchen

This looks great! I do not eat Paleo, so I am thinking of just adding the avocado to my regular Tzatziki sauce. Also, thanks for the tip of grating the cucumber. I always just chop it small, but I think the sauce would be a lot smoother your way. Pinning!

I don’t either.. I make a few recipes here and there but I’m definitely not hard core Paleo. I like Chocolate too much! I think you could add avocado to anything and it will come out tasting awesome, but i’m also an avocado lover. 🙂 Hope you enjoy Sherri!
