Morsels of Joy: Mother’s Day

Well, sadly, it is the day after Mothers Day. Which means no more being “forbidden to clean, cook, or change diapers”. {big frown face}

What did you end up making for your mom for Mothers Day? Did you make it or purchase it? Normally, I am a “make the gift” kind of girl. I just think that it is more heart felt and you spend time thinking about that person and what they would like. Ya know? So… Cason, Mike, and I made our Mothers Day gifts. We made these awesome Vintage Painted Mason Jars that can be used a flower vases. I got the idea for this project from Live.Laugh.Rowe. and she’s got plenty more of where that came from! Go check her out!

Ok, now to start the cuteness pictures. 🙂

And by the end, he was completely covered in all colors of paint. {we added the coral heart on his chest for extra fun} He had a blast.. and so did we! 🙂 Here are a couple of pics of the finished product.

All in all, yesterday was a wonderful day! I woke up to Mike and Cason bringing me breakfast in bed along with a warm latte with cinnamon on top. YUM! Church that morning had awesome worship which was followed by a great message about how Jesus cherishes women and they are the daughters of his heart. Then my favorite part! It was food time! 🙂 We headed over to my brother and sister in laws house to meet up with the whole motley crew. {9 adults and 3 kiddos… lots of personas} All the boys made lunch and dessert while the moms and kids just played. It was awesome! I love family and we all had so much fun just hanging out together.

So.. that was just a piece into what happened during my Mothers Day and the many Morsels of Joy I found throughout the day. What about you? What were your Morsels of Joy yesterday? I would love hear.. its always fun to celebrate with each other! 🙂

      Thank you so much, it means ALOT! It was actually the first time in like 6 years that I was able to spend Mothers Day with my mom too. Crazy!

    Sounds like a wonderful day! I, too, am sad that it is the day after Mother’s Day and back to diaper changing, cooking, cleaning, and all the rest of the stuff I didn’t have to do yesterday…but it was definitely nice to have the day off.

    I love how your mason jars came out! I saw the tutorial and thought it would be neat, but wasn’t sure if they’d actually turn out or not. They look great! And I love that you had Cason made one too!

      Yah! Gotta love the men who pamper their wives on mothers day… good men! 🙂 Yeah, when I saw the tutorial I was super excited and even more so that this “non crafty momma” was able to make not 1 but 4! woot! woot! Plus, it was a blast to make with Cason. You should totally do it, you have alot more craftiness in you then me. Glad you had an awesome mothers day!
