An easy to follow tutorial on how to make homemade Candied Pecans. These can be used as a topping for salads, a simple snack, or a holiday gift to friends and family.

Good Morning! I hope ya’ll had a wonderful Labor Day yesterday that was filled with lots of R & R with friends and family.  I know we did!  What did you end up doing? We got alot of stuff done around the house {yeah for yardwork :(} and then went to the pool to swim with little man.  He has now FINALLY gotten use to his water wings and enjoys jumping into the pool!  His huge beaming smile right before he’s about to jump in makes my heart melt, such a sweet little boy!  We’ve actually been at the pool the past two days.  Trying to pack it in as much pool time as we can before they close for the season.  Apparently they close down the pools here in Texas when the kids go back to school, even though it is still 100 degrees outside.  Sheeshh.. you’d think we’re coming into fall or something. Oh, wait we are, and I’m so excited about it.  I was actually contemplating about pulling down my fall decorations to decorate the house.  Do you think its too early?

Fall is definitely my favorite season of the year. I love everything about it. The weather, the colors on the trees, the clothes, the boots, the food, and the smell of fall in the air.  What smells remind you of the fall?  For me, it is always the smell of burning leaves, pumpkin pie, and roasted nuts.  Well, now you can have the “roasted nut” smell in your house!  One of the things I think everyone needs to know how to do is candy their own nuts. It is super simple and just two ingredients, nuts and sugar. These Candied Pecans are a great salad topper or would be a great holiday gift for friends, family, or neighbors. {you could even add a little cinnamon or cayenne pepper to spice it up}

To get started, heat up a medium size skillet to medium heat. Add 2 cups of pecan and  1/4 cup of white granulated sugar.

Stir to combine the sugar and pecans. Continue to stir until the sugar starts to melt and form a coating around the pecans.
