Apple Crisp Parfait Recipe

Ugh… I am sitting here with major writers block. I should be able to just spit things out. Tell you how my day went, a funny story, and then why I decided to make this dish and why you need to try it. But…. Well, I guess that’s what I’ll to do.

How my day went: Awesome, Cason and I took a little field trip and went to have lunch with daddy. We went to one of my favorite places, The Black Walnut Cafe, and had grilled fish tacos while sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather!

A funny story: Cason is learning where all the rooms of the house are and what happens in each room, he is particularly interested in the kitchen and bathroom right now. I really not sure when exactly is the right time to potty train and how you know. So I have been helping him understand that the “potty” is safe by putting him up on the toilet with the lid down and letting him get use to sitting there. The other day Cason overheard me ask our dog if she had to go to the bathroom, I let her outside and the next thing I know Cason is gone. I called his name a couple of times with no reply, so I started to search around the house. My search ended in our bathroom with Cason sitting on top of the toilet with a huge smile on his face. I couldn’t help but laugh! So cute but also scary. How do you know when to potty train? I don’t want to start too earlier!

Why I made this dish: I tend to have a sweet tooth in the evenings and was trying to think of a dessert that was less fating to eat. I had some of the Homemade Almond Vanilla Granola left over from the other day and just came up with this parfait idea.

Why you need to try this dish: All the components work perfectly together, the creamy taste from the vanilla yogurt with the sweet cinnamon flavored apples, topped by the crunchy almond granola. Its the perfect bit every time. If you like apple crisp you will totally love this dish AND its better for you then the regular apple crisp.

What a cute post and great recipe! The photos are very pretty as always, and it sounds delicious.

My oldest potty trained around 20 months. My oldest is 2 1/2 and still in diapers! I think they are all different. With my oldest, he was keeping dry diapers, so I just tried putting him on the potty and he knew what to do right away. My youngest just doesn’t seem to be able to go no matter how long he sits there. It seems every kid is different. You can always try, and if he resists or doesn’t seem able to do it, just stop for a while and try again in a couple months. Good luck!

    1. Thanks so much Andi, your too sweet!

You are absolutely right, every kid is different. I think I have to be ready to potty train too, and don’t know that I’m ready yet. He’s still my baby, crazy to think I need to potty train. I need to look at a few books to see the signs of training too. Thanks for the encouragement girl, I really appreciate it!
