How to Roast Garlic: Step By Step Instructions

A step by step tutorial on How to Roast Garlic to make any dish the bomb diggity! It’s so simple with just two ingredients, and it’s done in 30 minutes!

A Step By Step Guide on Roasting Garlic

This post is dedicated to all you garlic lovers out there. If your anything like me, you can’t imagine cooking any dish without garlic. It is the base of almost every recipe because it adds so much flavor to a meal.

Have you ever roasted garlic before?

Not only was it super easy but the flavor it has after roasting is seriously amazing. You can add it to almost anything. Whip up a quick roasted garlic aioli to add some flavor to a sandwich, add it to pasta, crunchy bread, homemade pizza dough, or just eat it straight up.

I probably could just eat it plain because it is so good roasted. Although consequences would be = husband wouldn’t want to come near me the rest of the day… Cuz lets be honest, nobody likes garlic breathe. 🙂

Anywho, the options are endless! And there are tons of health benefits as well. Garlic is known to reduce blood pressure, combat allergies, treat skin infections, helps lower your risk of cancer, and so much more.

If your not a fan of garlic, seriously try roasting it. It changes the flavor to awesomeness in a tiny clove. You will love it!

How to Roast Garlic

To get started, preheat oven to 400º. Peel away the outer layer of the garlic bulb, leaving the individual cloves intact.

With a knife, cut off about 1/4 of the bulb so that the top of the cloves are exposed.

Place the bulbs, exposed side up, on a baking sheet.  {I did mine in a muffin tin to keep them in one spot}. Drizzle about 1 teaspoon of olive oil over the top, rubbing the bulb to make sure it is completely covered with the oil. Make a little tin foil tent over each bulb.

Bake in oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the cloves feel soft when pressed in. Allow to cool.

To remove you should be able to just use a fork to pull each clove out of the skin. {otherwise use a small knife to cut around the skin and then squeeze or pull the clove out with your fingers}
